Several new drawings from the Mütter Museum of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and other medical museums have been freshly uploaded to Cabinet of Curiosities. These are sketches of interesting specimens I have found during my visits.

Anatomy Specimens as Art: "Cabinet of Curiosities" featured in New Scientist

I am pleased to announce that ten of my photographs from James G. Mundie's Cabinet of Curiosities have been prominently featured by eminent magazine New Scientist. They have chosen a range of photographs from various anatomy museums in Europe, including Museum Bleulandinum and Museum Vrolik.
This momentous occasion also provides a perfect opportunity to announce that the Cabinet of Curiosities website is now ready for viewing at mundieart.com/cabinet. The site is still a work in progress, but there is plenty of material there to tuck into.

Flickr photostream traffic jam
In the last several days, the viewing traffic on my Flickr account has gone through the roof. My photostream normally enjoys fairly heavy viewing, averaging 2,500 views a day — but for last three days my photos have received more than 17,000 views each day. Yesterday's traffic alone exceeded the total views for the previous week.
What accounts for this sudden rise in interest? I'm not entirely certain, but much of the traffic seems to be the result of a few related blog postings:
- circa71.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/flickr-set-love-european-anatomy-museums/
- wordpress.com/tag/flickr/
- morbidanatomy.blogspot.com/2009/01/national-museum-of-health-and-medicine.html
I suppose this is proof positive of the viral effectiveness of blogging. Furthermore, this indicates great interest in the material that makes up my new body of work, Cabinet of Curiosities — the new website for which is coming soon.
